Black, red, and booze all over

To celebrate Husband's birthday this year, I made a card, a booze tower, and whisky caramel cupcakes.

Left: dimensional card shaped like a whisky tumbler of whisky featuring the words "Happy Birthday;" center: two-layer tower of alcohol bottles and cans of assorted sizes, reminiscent of a 2- or 3-layer cake; right: plastic containers of whisky caramel cupcakes, white cupcakes with caramel buttercream frosting and whisky caramel drizzle

Card

Keeping with a black/white/red motif, I designed the words Happy Birthday into the outline of a tumbler with red card stock whisky and tracing paper ice cubes. When the card is closed it appears full, when the card is open it appears empty.

The white glass outline, words, ice cubes, and glass contents are attached to the front panel that swing open. The inside of the back panel has a black background and white tumbler outline along with a handwritten birthday message

Tower

I probably looked like a madwoman in the store, picking up bottles to compare the heights and arranging them in my shopping basket to see how they looked next to each other.

The bottom layer is the bulkier bottles, with foam and cardboard spacers to make most of them the same height.

luckily I had a lot of foam, cardboard, and duct tape on hand

Cupcakes

I am by no means a baker, but I made these whisky caramel cupcakes and they actually turned out fine! Surprised the heck out of me. So much dairy, though, it's about 80% butter. But now I know how to make caramel, and that's not a bad thing.
